Lazio striker Libor Kozak is a transfer target for both
English club Sunderland and Turkish giants Besiktas.
Despite being last season’s leading goalscorer in the
UEFA Europa League with eight goals, the 24-year-old Czech international will
not be a part of coach Vladimir Petkovic’s plans for the upcoming season.
According to Calcio News, Besiktas have made an offer to
take him on loan with the option of signing the striker outright. Lazio
president Claudio Lotito has rejected that offer, giving Sunderland a chance to
get Kozak.
The Black Cats are coached by Lazio legend Paolo Di Canio
and the English club could be willing to part with for €6 million the Czech
striker.
Although the Czech striker was prolific in the Europa
League, Kozak played second-fiddle to German international striker Miroslav
Klose last season. In 19 Serie A matches last season, he failed to score a
goal.
Kozak has scored 22 goals in 80 matches for the
Biancocelesti since joining in 2008.
