The remaining Week 23 games of the Glo Premier League
were played on Sunday evening – here is a review of the matches played across
various centres.
A first-half goal from Ndubuisi Ekwuribe gave Kaduna
United a 1-0 win over visiting Heartland FC at the Ahmedu Bello Stadium.
In a weekend with very low goal count, Jonathan Zikeye’s
first-half strike was enough to help Nembe City secure all the points at stake
against visiting Nasarawa United.
Lobi Stars also recored a 1-0 home win over Shooting
Stars, thanks to a goal from Barnabas Imenger, while Warri Wolves recorded a
1-0 home win over Rangers.
The match with the most goals took place at the Pantami
Stadium in Gombe, where Babangida Ibrahim scored a brace to help Gombe United
to a 2-0 win over visiting Sunshine Stars.
In Bauchi, Wikki Tourists recorded a 1-0 win over
visiting Bayelsa United, courtesy of a late goal from Manu Usman.
There is no date yet for the postponed game between Kano
Pillars and Akwa United, while the result of the El Kanemi vs Enyimba game is
unavailable for now as a result of the state of emergency in Maiduguri.
