The Lobi Stars striker is not bothered they will play the
Elephants in the semi finals of the Federation Cup
Lobi Stars striker, Anthony Okpotu has told Goal that
Enyimba cannot stop them from playing in the finals of the Federation Cup.
The Makurdi side defeated Akwa Starlets 2-1 in one of the
quarter final matches played at the Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium, Enugu on Wednesday
to set up a date with the Aba giants in the semi finals.
Okpotu revealed that if there is one team Enyimba will be
afraid of, it is Lobi Stars. "This is not an empty boast. We know how to
beat Enyimba and this match will not be an exception," he declared.
"When you check our records over the years in the
Federation Cup, you will notice that if we don't get knocked out in the round
of 64, then we usually play to the finals.
"I see a good game that football fans will enjoy and
be happy that they get to see. Enyimba is a strong side and they have recently
started playing very well.
"But that will not stop us from beating them and
qualifying for the final. Our aim is to win the trophy this year after losing
to Heartland last season.
"We are focussed and ready and there is nothing
stopping us," the Al-Ittihad bound player said.
