Brazilian striker, Diego Costa has just signed a new
three-year contract extension with Atletico Madrid that will keep him at the
Vicente Calderon until 2018 and effectively closing they door on any transfer
to English Premier League side, Liverpool, after their initial bid was rejected
by the player and the club.
In an official statement from the club, Costa expressed
joy in signing a new contract and staying with the club, while Atleti exec,
Jose Luis Perez Caminero was also pleased with the new deal and feels it is a
cause for all of Atletico Madrid to celebrate.
Atletico Madrid and Diego Costa have reached an agreement
to extend the contract of
hispanobrasileño striker for three more seasons, committing him to our
club runs until June 30, 2018. The striker, born in Lagarto, Brazil, 24 years
ago, was delighted with the agreement that has been signed with our company:
