The Argentine winger insists he wants to stay at the club
despite the imminent arrival of Gareth Bale and reported interest from Arsenal
and Galatasaray.
Angel di Maria insists he is happy to remain at Real
Madrid and fight for his place in Carlo Ancelotti’s side.
Arsenal opened preliminary talks for the Argentina
international last week while Galatasaray are also thought to be monitoring his
situation as Gareth Bale's imminent arrival from Tottenham continues to cast
doubt over his future in Spain.
The former Benfica man put in a man-of-the-match
performance in Madrid’s 1-0 win away to Granada on Monday night, however, and
says he has no intention of leaving the Spanish capital.
"I understand that the club is strengthening and
they are precise in what they do," Di Maria told AS.
"But I signed up to 2018 just a year ago and my
desire is to stay in the Bernabeu."
Di Maria joined Real Madrid from Benfica in June 2010 and
has since made over 100 appearances for the club.
