Sierra Leonean defender, Umaru Bangura aka Zaingalay’,
will soon sign for EPL new entrants Crystal Palace, according to the player’s
agent Tony Finnigan who himself was a former Palace player.
Finnigan has claimed that Bangura will soon sign for the
Premier League club, adding that discussions between Palace and Bangura’s club,
FK Haugesund, are ongoing which will see the player move to England as
Finniganis insisting that the South London team is still very interested in the
player’s signature.
“Umaru will sign a feed contract with Crystal Palace
shortly,” revealed Finnigan to Haugesund Avis. The former Palace player said he
knows the manager Ian Holloway personally, and that negotiations on personal
terms for Bangura are only a formality.
“I’m going to seek a three-year contract for Umaru.He
will travel to England when his Haugesund contract runs out at the end of
November and will be ready to play for Palace on 1January 2014,” Finnigan
reaffirmed.
“Personally I would also wish that Haugesund could have
something left for the good work they have done with Umaru. They have been a big
part of his development.A low transfer fee with resale clause for example. It
would be a win-win situation. It also would have established a partnership
between Crystal Palace and FK Haugesund.”
Meanwhile, FK Haugesund are presently with four pure
center-backs in the squad – Umaru Bangura, VegardSkjervefossen, Martin Bjørnbak
and DusanCvetinovi- and Sports Director AsbjørnHelgeland has said he cannot
make any comment on whether it is still possible for Bangura to leave FKH in
the summer.
