French club Angers have confirmed that Arsenal are
trialing Moroccan international Alharbi El Jadeyaoui for two days as Arsene
Wenger looks to find a hidden gem.
According to Sky Sports, Wenger has had El Jadeyaoui
watched several times and they believe the midfielder could be good enough to
play in the Premier League.
The source says El Jadeyaoui landed in England on Monday
and has two days to impress Wenger with his home club willing to let their star
player leave if an agreement is made.
Angers general manager Olivier Pickeu told Ouest-France
that it is both rewarding for the player and the club to see him join up with
the Arsenal squad.
"For Alharbi, this is something else,” Pickeu said.
"We're not in a negotiation phase yet.
"Arsenal have watched him many times, with Morocco
as well. We thought it would be nice for him to spend time in England. It is
rewarding for him and it is rewarding for us."
Arsenal have already signed Yaya Sanogo from Ligue 2 club
Auxerre this season as they attempt to build a squad whilst the big money
signings slip by.
El Jadeyaoui has never played at a higher level than
Ligue 2 having played for AS Beauvais, Tours, Chateauroux, Brest and Guingamp
before joining Angers last year.
Meanwhile, Sky Sports also report that UAE side Al Ain
have refused to let star player Omar Abdulrahman join the club for a week-long
trial.
