The actress, who's also a pastor's wife, was scrutinized
for wearing a cleavage-revealing gown on the red carpet.
"Deception" star Meagan Good stole the show
last Sunday at the BET Awards red carpet for wearing a sexy blue gown that
could rival Jennifer Lopez's plunging Versace gown to the 2000 Grammy Awards.
Although she did get much attention for it, making heads turn and getting
second looks for her body-hugging dress with a plunging neckline, it did come
with its share of scrutiny, especially since the 31-year-old pastor's wife was
there to present the Best Gospel Artist award.
Good has since addressed the harsh reactions, posting on
her Instagram, "[It] makes me sad not regretful" that her
"character, integrity, my walk with God and my Husband" was
questioned "simply based on a dress that I wore." Good claimed,
"I'm not any less holy because the dress I wore."
Good then went on to discuss that she was simply being
"authentic" with the choice of her dress, and that she did not feel
she had to dress a certain way or "look the role." She also expressed
sadness "that us as Christians can't see beyond our initial reaction and
don't seek God before we attack other brothers and sisters," ending with
self-assured "God knows my heart and that I didn't do anything
wrong."
Prior to her show-stopping stride on the BET red carpet,
Good had similarly been criticized in the past in relation to her being a pastor's
wife, with fellow Christians expecting her to conduct herself more virtuously.
She was previously slammed for performing a sexy burlesque act in her Vegas
bachelorette party weeks before her wedding to DeVon Franklin.
