Tottenham Hotspur midfield player Gareth Bale is
understood to be deeply unhappy that chairman Daniel Levy has turned down a 100
million euros offer from Real Madrid for their star man, according to reports
in the Observer.
The Spanish giants have lodged their bid, worth £86.3m,
with the north London club for the coveted Wales international, an offer that
would beat the current word-record transfer fee of £80m that los Blancos paid
to lure Manchester United playmaker Cristiano Ronaldo from Old Trafford to the
Santiago Bernabeu in the summer of 2009.
And despite being contracted to the White Hart Lane club
until June 30 2016, the 24-year-old feels that Levy should accept Madrid’s
offer and allow him to make his dream move to the Spanish capital next season.
Bale, who won the double Footballer of the Year award in
the previous campaign after scoring 26 goals in just 44 matches in all
competitions for Tottenham, including 21 strikes in his 33 Premier League
contests, has his heart set on playing in the Uefa Champions League next season
for the world’s biggest club and feels that after six years of loyal service to
Spurs, he should be granted his wish.
All of which leaves the wide man in a tricky position at
present, although one thing is for sure and that is Bale is said to now be
determined to push through his move to Madrid this summer come what may.
