Miley Cyrus has broken Justin Bieber's VEVO record of the
most views in a 24-hour period. The music video website announced the news via
its official Twitter, saying, "IT'S OFFICIAL! @MileyCyrus has broken the
@VEVO 24hr record w/ #WeCantStop! RT using #MileyVEVO to congratulate
her!"
According to VEVO, the 20-year-old singer and actress'
music video for "We Can't Stop" surpassed over 10.7 million views in
under twenty-four hours. The record was previously held by Bieber, whose
"Beauty and a Beat" clip, featuring Nicki Minaj, bagged 10.6 million
in a single day span.
Cyrus premiered her latest music video on June 19.
Directed by Diane Martel, the video gives a look at the former "Hannah
Montana" star who tries to shed her Disney princess image as she parties
hard with her friends and does whatever she wants.
After appearing on "Jimmy Kimmel Live!" on
Tuesday night, June 25, for her first live performance in years, Cyrus is
heading to New York's Time Square to perform on "Good Morning
America". Fans will also see her on "Live! with Kelly and
Michael", where she will sit down with host Michael Strahan and guest
co-host Kristin Chenoweth.
