In addition to having a strong social media presence, the
'Bad Romance' singer's 'Born This Way' world tour grosses an impressive $168
million.
Lady GaGa tops Forbes' Most Powerful Musicians in The
World list. Based on earnings, social media presence and press mentions, the
27-year-old superstar beats fellow musicians including Beyonce Knowles and
Madonna, who come behind her to round out the top three.
The Mother Monster makes it to the list's No. 1 after her
"Born This Way" world tour grossed $168 million through January,
despite being cut due to a hip injury. The "Bad Romance" hitmaker
also has a strong social media presence with 38 million people following her on
Twitter and 58 million fans on Facebook.
Knowles takes the second place on the list as she has
earned $2 million per show for her "Mrs. Carter" world tour. Her big
bucks also come from the deals with Pepsi and H&M.
Madonna comes the third as her MDNA tour has grossed $305
million. Also on the list are country crooner Taylor Swift, classic rock band
Bon Jovi, troubled pop star Justin Bieber, sexy singer and actress Jennifer
Lopez and R&B singer Rihanna.
Coldplay's rockers are the only British musicians who
make the cut. The Chris Martin-led band is placed the ninth, thanks to their
world tour that pulled in more than $3 million per city.
Katy Perry rounds out the top 10 with earnings from her
fragrances, private gigs, sponsorship deal with snackmaker PopChips and her
2012 biopic, "Katy Perry: Part of Me".
