Former France manager Gerard Houllier was full of praise
for the Nigerian team despite their 3-0 loss to Spain, but bemoaned their lack
of a cutting edge.
The Super Eagles matched Spain for long periods, and
tested Barcelona goalkeeper Victor Valdes on numerous occasions, but their
inability to find the net condemned them to a second defeat and ended their
Fifa Confederations Cup campaign.
Houllier was however quick to pick out the positives
"I'm very impressed with this Nigeria team," he told
KickOffNigeria.com. "They play good football, and they are very young
team.
"But they need to score goals. If they can do that,
it will be a great team," the former Liverpool manager said as he headed
off to his Fifa duties.
