The leading sports brand have renewed their relationship
by signing a new deal with the club to remain as their official sponsor and sportswear
supplier until 2023
Chelsea have announced a new 10-year-deal with adidas
which will see the pair continue their partnership until 2023.
Adidas, who first entered into a contract with the club
in 2006, will remain as the club's official sponsor and sportswear supplier to
stretch their partnership to 17 years.
The move has been described by the club as ‘the biggest
deal to date Chelsea FC has signed with a partner’, with both parties
expressing their delight at the decision.
"We are delighted to extend our partnership until
2023 after a highly successful first seven seasons," said chief executive,
Ron Gourlay, in an official statement.
"Both organisations share the same ethos and
ambition and the new deal reaffirms adidas' belief in the club's status in
world football."
Herbert Hainer, adidas' chief executive officer, added:
"Both adidas and Chelsea have a long and proud heritage in football and we
are delighted to continue our working relationship with one of Europe's elite football
clubs.
"We look forward to many more years of success,
working closely with the club on product, marketing and grassroots initiatives
in the UK and around the globe."
