The pop diva made the shocking admission as she talked
about being the voice of Queen Tara in 'Epic'.
It's the last thing you would expect to come out of the
lips of Beyonce Knowles, a Grammy Award-winning singer who has sold millions of
records. But during a recent interview on Australian show "The
Project", the pop/R'n'B diva admitted that she didn't like the sound of
her own voice as she talked about her voice acting role in the animated film
"Epic" as Queen Tara.
"I have such a crazy voice when I speak. I hate
hearing myself speak!" Bey revealed. But when she heard it as the voice of
Queen Tara, Queen Bey said it felt "really strange, but I love it,"
to "hear my little crazy voice coming out of this beautiful, regal
woman."
Beyonce also raved about her experience working on the
animated flick, saying, "Just seeing yourself animated and seeing yourself
doing something you could never do in real life - I've always thought, for
whatever reason, that would be super cool." It's the 31-year-old artist's
first time to lend her voice to an animated character.
And being the only "one-named" diva working on
the fantasy-adventure motion picture, Bey was quick to quell any preconceived
notions about her, especially with "epic" director Chris Wedge.
"I told him, 'Listen, just tell me whatever you have to tell me! I love
direction. I'm here to be your muse.' And we had fun," she said in jest.
