In another interview, Jason also reveals he and his
singer girlfriend have recorded duet songs for each other's upcoming albums.
It seems like Jason Derulo and Jordin Sparks are ready to
take their relationship to the next level. When visiting Ryan Seacrest to debut
his new single "The Other Side", the couple answers, though coyly, a
question about engagement plan.
"That's a question for that guy over there!"
Jordin says. Jason then teases that his singer girlfriend has indeed gone to
look at rings and sent him photos of her favorites, "Oh, trust me, she
sends me pictures!" He says, "It'll happen when the time is
right."
Explaining how 23-year-old Jordin is
"different" from the other girls, Jason who's also 23 says, "I
felt very comfortable and I tell her things that men would probably not tell
their girlfriends...[we have] heart to hearts and just let it out on the
table."
The pair, who have been dating for a year, have taken
their duet to the studio. They make sweet music to be included in each other's
new albums. "We did a few songs together; one will be on her album, one
will be on mine," Jason spills to MTV News.
"We kind of butt heads in the studio, a little bit.
We kind of work differently and we're very used to being in the studio, but
being in the studio our way. So you know, it could get kind of ugly in there
sometimes but we made it happen. It's a beautiful thing."
He continues, "I'm a perfectionist, but more
importantly, I'm a control freak in what I want things to sound like, and she's
the same way. It's just that. I mean we made it happen. In the end, it's not
like crazy anger or anything like that."
Jason's new album is scheduled to be released in
September this year. The first single is about "becoming lovers." He
explained, "You know if you have a best friend there's nothing better than
having that same person be your lover as well. And it only takes that one kiss...that
one moment, that one drink, that can change everything and change things to the
other side."
