Paris Saint Germain could use striker Edinson Cavani as a
makeweight to allow the signing of Juventus starlet Paul Pogba.
The Uruguayan striker is reportedly looking to leave PSG
due to being played out of position and the French outfit could use this to
their advantage to acquire the services of Pogba.
This comes from reports according to Tuttosport and the
Parisian club president Nasser Al-Khelaifi wants to make Pogba a symbol of the
club.
The Ligue 1 leaders have apparently said that they would
be willing to pay upwards of €60 million for the French international.
It is also suggested that the Bianconeri would accept a
fee considerably less than the rumoured fee of €60m, but such an approach would
still involve the forward’s transfer fees and wage demands.
The reason the striker wants to leave is due to being
played on the wing in Laurent Blanc’s current 4-3-3 formation choice as opposed
to Cavani’s preferred 4-4-2 position through the middle which would require
less defensive responsibilities according to L’Equipe.
“We’ll wait until the season is over and then we’ll look
into this more. But we have to finish the season first,’’ he said.
“I am in still in Paris, but there are certainly things
we must talk about with the club, things should be done differently.”
It is clear that both PSG and Juventus will have to wait
until their respective seasons come to a close before turning this rumour into
reality
