Tottenham eye Southampton’s Luke Shaw: According to the
Evening Standard, Tottenham are believed to have entered the race to sign
Southampton’s 18 year old left back and sumptuous talent Luke Shaw. The Saints
star has attracted the biggest of names including Chelsea, Manchester United
and Arsenal, but it now seems that Spurs are too in the line to get the hot
prospect from Southampton in the summer. Spurs are also believed to match
Liverpool’s splurge of cash for signing Lazio midfielder Ogenyi Onazi.
Benteke to leave Villa in all probability: The agent of
Christain Benteke has gone out in public and said his client might be on his
way out of Villa Park after the World Cup this summer. The Belgian sparked
interests from Chelsea and Liverpool previous summer, but eventually decided to
stay at the Clarets and Blues after extending his contract. However, with Villa
way off a Eurpean place this campaign, Benteke has perhaps made up his mind to
walk out from Paul Lambert’s side. It is believed that German clubs Schalke and
Borussia Dortmund are monitoring the situation. The Black and Golds are also
pondering a move for Spurs defender Vlad Chiriches, 24, who is valued at £8m by
the English side.
Aston Villa however are set to offer striker Gabriel
Agbonlahro a four year contract extension this coming summer.
Adding to United’s woes is ,Manchester City defender
Pablo Zabaleta who believes the derby win at Old Trafford is proof the Citizens
have recaptured their best form just in time in their quest for the Premier
League title.
Elsewhere, Metro claims that Netherlands Boss and
Legendary manager Louis Van Gaal is being considered by Mnachester United’s
owners, the Glazers, if the club decides to go ahead and sack David Moyes after
what has been a shambolic season for the Red Devils.
There have also been rumours that Arsene Wenger will
leave Arsenal for Barcelona this summer. Everton’s Roberto Martinez and
Southampton’s Mauricio Pocchettino are in fray to replace the Frenchman.
Finally, Holland legend Ruud Gullit is confident that his
former club Chelsea have what it takes to win a Champions League and Premier
League double this season.
