Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Sandro has admitted that he
is aware that he is a transfer target of Serie A sides Roma and Inter Milan.
The Brazil international joined Spurs in 2010 when then
coach Harry Redknapp brought him to London from Brazilian Serie A side
Internacional, and he has since made 76 appearances for the Premier League
side.
Now the 24-year-old has revealed that two of Italy's most
decorated outfits are interested in possibly securing his services at the end
of the 2013/2014 season.
"Inter and Roma want me? Yes, I know," he told
Radio Bradesco Esportes FM. "I know a lot about the interest in me, but
I'm happy with the Spurs and I haven't made any concrete contacts with anyone.
"I can say, however, that it's always nice to be
appreciated."
Despite the interest from abroad and despite the recent
sacking of Andre Villas-Boas the defensive midfielder has said he is fully
committed to north London club's immediate goals.
"There was the sacking of the [Andres] Villas-Boas,
which I believe isn't fully correct, but I know that results count the most in
football," he revealed.
"Here with Tottenham we would like to win the
Premier League, even if the real objective is to gain a spot in the Champions
League for next season."
Looking to the future the Brazilian also admitted that he
would consider returning home to South America, and he explained: "Will I
return to Brazil? Now is too soon. I'll only return when I'm close to ending my
career."
