The former Tottenham man was in scintillating form as he
put Valladolid to the sword with three goals and a brilliant assist.
Real Madrid star Gareth Bale was full of praise for his
teammates following his first hat-trick for the Spanish giants, while
reiterating his belief that Cristiano Ronaldo is the world's greatest.
The world's most expensive player scored three times as
Los Blancos beat Real Valladolid 4-0, while his exquisite pass picked out Karim
Benzema for Madrid's other goal.
As such, the Welshman has now scored eight goals and
provided six assists in his last seven matches for the Spanish giants.
And the summer signing from Spurs admitted that having
netted twice and with the match won, he was desperate to find a third goal as
the game moved on.
"I think as soon as I scored the second I was trying
to get the third," Bale admitted.
"I was trying my hardest to get into positions and
thankfully the move did work out. It was a great ball by Marcelo to put it on a
plate for me."
Speaking about his teammates Bale said: "My
teammates have helped me to settle in straight away.
"All the players, the coaching staff, everybody, has
been excellent to me. They have made me feel very welcome and given me a lot of
confidence.
"I feel part of the team, every game that we play
I'm getting more used to it, and I'm enjoying my football. I think that showed
tonight."
Bale once again started on the right for Carlo
Ancelotti's side, but there was no place on the left for the injured Ronaldo,
who watched the game from a private box.
And while Bale seemingly took on the added responsibility
of covering for the missing Portuguese star, he's happy just to be enjoying his
football - while admitting he'd much rather have the Ballon d'Or contender
alongside him.
"It was a massive blow not having Cristiano playing
continued Bale.
"For me, he is the world's best player and we had to
do a job without him.
"[But] I didn't feel any pressure to be honest. I
just want to go out there and enjoy my football and thankfully I scored a
hat-trick."
Indeed Bale kept the ball for himself. having had it
signed by his Real Madrid colleagues.
