The coach is concerned by the lack of goals coming from
elsewhere in his side and has demanded they start to contribute more during the
second half of the season
Laurent Blanc has warned his side that they must all pull
their weight in front of goal after Paris Saint-Germain drew 2-2 with Lille,
claiming that they can no longer rely so heavily on star striker Zlatan
Ibrahimovic.
The Swede found the net for the 27th time this season to
put Les Parisiens in front, but Les Dogues turned the game on its head with
goals from Rio Mavuba and Salomon Kalou and only a late Marko Basa own goal
gave the hosts a share of the spoils.
Blanc stated afterwards that his side cannot continue to
be so dependent upon Ibrahimovic and fellow forward Edinson Cavani, who missed
the game for personal reasons.
“There is a bit of everything, regret and satisfaction on
the back of the match,” Blanc told Canal+.
“The regret is not getting into half-time with the lead.
I am satisfied with the performance but I am disappointed with the result,
although Lille could also have won.
“Our offensive potential is not limited to Ibrahimovic
and Cavani. Everybody must be efficient and effective; we have the players who
have the potential to do better.
“This is a part of our game that needs to be improved in
the second half of the season.”
Ibrahimovic was involved in an altercation with Mavuba in
the first half, an incident which saw the Swede hit the deck. The France
international wasn’t sent off, though, and after the game he laughed about the
incident with Canal+.
“He’s two meters tall, I’ve touched his head and he
fallen,” Mavuba explained.
“Ibrahimovic provoked me. Maybe in the Champions League
it’s a red card but the referee today was intelligent.”
