Friday, 27 December 2013

7 Thor – Zlatan Ibrahimovic
Thor possesses a large hammer and has the ability to control the weather to his own suiting. Considering the incredible confidence and self-belief that he has, it wouldn’t be a surprise if he believed he could do something like this. Thor also has heavy resistance to physical injury, which would coincide with Zlatan’s idea that he is untouchable. He also called himself ‘God’ when speaking to a reporter prior to Sweden’s World Cup play-off against Portugal this year.

6 Captain America - Clint Dempsey
This is pretty self-explanatory, as Clint Dempsey is the captain of the United States National side. The creation of Captain America had a patriotic origin, and this coincides with Dempsey’s pride and passion in leading his national side. Dempsey is known for recording the then fastest goal in the nation’s history of World Cup qualifying, netting as early as 53 seconds in a crushing 8-0 win over Barbados.

5 The Flash – Theo Walcott
he was recorded in 2013 as the fastest player in the Premier League, ahead of Antonio Valencia and Gareth Bale, with a maximum speed of 22.2mph. The Flash is able to move, as well as think and react at the speed of light.

4 Spiderman – Gareth Bale
This may appear as a strange comparison, but he and Spiderman are more alike than may be thought. Both are incredibly difficult at being caught because of their mesmerizing agility, and this is only matched by their strong physical state.

3 The Hulk – Hulk
Zenit’s Brazilian player Hulk is actually called Givanildo Vieira de Souza. Like many Brazilian names, this is problematic to pronounce, so nicknames are often used. Ever since he was a child, Hulk’s appearances was likened to Lou Ferrigno, who actor who played ‘The Hulk’. He also has a strong physicality, which is also comparable to The Hulk.

2 Batman – Lionel Messi
Batman is not the tallest of superheroes, not lightning fast, and is often not as physically compatible to some of his foes. This is comparable to he, who uses his football intelligence and agility to gain an edge over opponents. This is again comparable to Batman, who has to think tactically to gain an advantage over his enemies.

1 Superman – Cristiano Ronaldo

Carlos Queiroz has previously named him as Portugal’s ‘Superman’ and has praised the influence and inspiration he has on the team. Like Superman, he is physically strong, extremely fast, and the height he reaches for headers means that he is as close to flying as humanly possible.
