Napoli defender Paolo Cannavaro is thought to be a target
of Premier League side Mancherster City.
The Napoli captain has been marginalized in the team, as
the new coach Rafael Benitez prefers Miguel Britos, Raul Albiol and Federico
Fernandez rather than the 32-year-old centre-back in his 4-2-3-1 system.
According to Talksport, after some scouting on Cannavaro
last summer, Manchester City are ready to bid for him in winter.
City coach Manuel Pellegrini regards the former Parma
defender as a potential back-up for Vincent Kompany, who has recently been
troubled by injury.
Having made over 230 appearances for the Partenopei,
Cannavaro raised the trophy of Coppa Italia as the team captain in 2012.
