Inter defender Juan Jesus believes that the team deserve
to be in first place in the league standings and revealed that he won’t settle
for less.
The Nerazzurri are currently in fourth place on the Serie
A table, only two points away from breaking into the top three, but the
22-year-old admits that he won’t be satisfied with just a Champions League
spot.
Juan Jesus spoke to Sky Sport Italia about his hunger for
success, while also praising his fellow Biscione team-mates and coach Walter
Mazzarri.
“I wouldn’t take third, but I’d take first,” said the
Brazilian. “That’s because Inter deserve to always be in first place.
“I trust my team, we’re all doing our jobs, each and
every one of us. We need to take things one match at a time and see where we
are come the end.
“We also have an intelligent coach. He understands
Italian football well, he also looks at us as individuals and speaks to each of
us.
“He’s a great coach and he will be for a long time to
come. He’s doing well because he’s helping the team and the team will help
him.”
