News Update :

Vidal fall out with Juventus, Manchester United have hope of truly excellent signing

Sunday, 20 October 2013

There are not many midfielders available who would suit Manchester United more than Arturo Vidal. The Chilean midfielder is just that, a midfielder. He can be attacking, defensive and do it all in the way football used to expect of the very best in the centre.

Manchester United buying Marouane Fellaini looks more puzzling by the day. His cost is one thing but he also stated when he signed that he wants to play as a defensive midfielder and expects that. Manchester Untied already have Michael Carrick in a deep role and wouldn't need the two and Fellaini is at his most terrifying when bursting into the box and perhaps even when playing off the striker. Manchester United needed to add goals and assists to midfield and if Fellaini only does that in an advanced position but prefers to play deep then it doesn't really look like a perfect fit.

Vidal on the other hand does. Last season he scored 10 goals in Serie A and a further 3 on 9 Champions League games. He hot 8 assists as well in the league and is a battler with it, Vidal is not some lightweight floating butterfly, he's a real presence.

The Chilean was supposed to be signing a new contract all through out September, he said he didn't want to leave and his family were happy. September creeped into October and there's still no new contract been signed and now there's a fall out. Vidal was told by Juventus that if he play both of Chile's international games during the last break that he would not feature against Fiorentina, so after featuring in both matches he decided to get a later plane back to Chile which hasn't impressed hard-line Antonio Conte one bit.

In a Tuttosport poll, 80% of Juventus fans voted to punish him and he's not likely to start today against Fiorentina, which is what the player himself thought was happening anyway and obviously wasn't very happy with it.

This gives a little hope to interested clubs, and therefore Manchester United but would David Moyes be willing to show he knew he'd got it wrong with Fellaini? He may not have to, the Belgian could move ahead of Carrick in the manager's thoughts for a DM. Moyes showed with his pursuit of Leighton Baines that he's not afraid of upsetting established players at Manchester United.
