Super Eagles defender Oboabona putting Nigeria first
Godfrey Oboabona says he will do whatever it takes to
help Nigeria reach the 2014 World Cup.
The Super Eagles meet Ethiopia in Addis Ababa on Sunday
in the first leg of their qualifying play-off, with the Caykur Rizespor
defender one of four national team players on a yellow card.
But Oboabona insisted to KickOffNigeria.com that he will
not play any differently despite the risk of missing the decisive leg through
suspension should he pick up another caution.
"I am not worried about the yellow card. Even if I
have to get a red card to make sure we get to the World Cup, I will definitely
do that," Oboabona said.
"The most important thing is to make sure we qualify
for the World Cup. I don't have that at the back of my mind, I have to keep
playing the way I'm playing and fight to make sure we are there.
"Nigeria is bigger than everybody. It is not about
Oboabona. Anybody can play."
