There is more frustrations for the Andre Ayew and his
brother Jordan Ayew as their Olympique Marseille side suffered their fifth
straight – losing 3-2 to Stade Reims in the French Ligue 1 on Saturday
afternoon.
Earlier in the week, Andre had spoke off his frustration
at their poor run in both domestic and European champions and urged his side to
shift their focus on their Ligue 1 title campaign.
After their Uefa Champions League home loss to Napoli in
mid-week, Elie Baup’s men went into their home test against former Reims with
determination to get back on their winning way with Andre Ayew starting from
the center of attack.
But he could make little impact in the first half as
Reims scored twice in the first-half before Marseille came into the game after
the break with Andre setting up youngster Florian Thauvin to halve the deficit
before Andre-Pierre Gignac levelled it.
But in the dying minutes of the game – in the 91st
minute, Congolese-born Prince Oniangué scored to claim victory for the
visitors.
Marseille’s recent slump is likely to cause more
psychological problems for Andre and Jordan Ayew.
