Micah Richards has blamed Manchester City’s thrashing at
the hands of Bayern Munich on tiredness.
The powerful full-back, who was a surprise starter at the
Etihad Stadium, was powerless to stop Bayern as they romped to a 3-1 victory.
But despite the loss, Richards blames the gulf in class
on fatigue, and has backed City to bounce back to their best soon.
‘We knew they were a really good team and they showed
that. That is why they are champions,’ said Richards.
‘They didn’t play with a striker and there was so much
movement. It felt like they had an extra man and I wish them all the best.
‘We tried but there were some tired legs out there.
‘Hopefully we can now improve.’
City now sit second in their Champions League group
behind Bayern, but face back-to-back clashes with CSKA Moscow with Manuel
Pellegrini’s men still looking to win their group.
