The defender believes today’s 2-0 win shows that the
Bianconeri have turned a corner: “We were back to being ruthless and
aggressive, just as the manager wants”
Giorgio Chiellini says the team’s determined approach to
this afternoon’s encounter with Genoa proved the key to yielding the return of
“a true Juve performance”.
The defender revealed the Bianconeri had spoken about
their recent difficulties in team meetings and believes today’s display shows
that the heart-to-hearts have achieved the desired effect.
Addressing reporters at Juventus Stadium, Chiellini said:
“We analysed everything over the past few days and saw that certain things
could have gone differently. But I can say that I saw the right spark in Madrid
and today we once again saw another Juventus, ruthless and aggressive, just as
the manager wants.
“We started with the right anger and aggression and
swarmed Genoa in the first half. Only an inspired Perin performance prevented
us from adding to our tally. Now we’ll be confident in approaching Wednesday’s
game against Catania.”
