Mario Balotelli will remain with the Italian national
team despite his fitness woes ahead of the Azzurri’s match against Armenia on
Tuesday.
The 23-year-old was not on the bench or in the stands for
last night’s 2-2 draw against Denmark due to illness.
However he returned to training on Saturday in Florence
but did not last long as he left the field soon after.
“The player will remain with us,” Professor Enrico
Castellacci stated as reported with ANSA.
“It’s impossible to put a number on the likelihood of a
return for Tuesday.
“It’s encouraging to see he returned to training after
five days, but he is being held back by gastroenteritis. We will evaluate him
day by day.
Niang welcomes Rami to Milan
Milan play Caen today in a friendly, so Mbaye Niang
discusses his old club and new teammate Adil Rami.
“This is my second year at Milan and there is a lot of
competition, but I am growing on a psychological level too,” he told Sky Sport
Italia.
“I hope that this season I will score more goals. I have
to work hard, but the important thing is that the team wins.
“Our objective is to finish in the top three, as we are a
great team with quality players. I believe we can do it.
“As for myself, I want to go as far as possible, to
become the best. I know I have to work on that, though. I am happy to be back
in Caen and hope it will be a celebration, as I had happy years there.”
Milan are due to sign Rami on loan from Valencia, as he
underwent his medical on Saturday.
“Rami is a great defender. I knew him in the United
States and also saw him in the France side, so I can say he’s a very good
player. We hope his qualities can help the team.”
