The youngster believes it will be a "beautiful"
occasion when he faces the Argentine attacker on Wednesday, claiming his career
will benefit from a stern test at Camp Nou.
Ajax defender Stefano Denswil says he will always try to
"eat every attacker alive" on the pitch - including Lionel Messi.
The 20-year-old is set to come face-to-face with the
Argentine star when the Eredivisie champions visit Camp Nou for Wednesday's
opening Champions League Group H clash, but rather than be overawed by the
occasion, he insists it will be a "huge boost" for his early career
to do battle with the attacking sensation.
He told De Telegraaf: "A nightmare to play against
Messi? Now it might be tough, but as an Ajax defender you have to try to eat
every attacker alive - whether his name is Messi or not.
"For me this match will be a nice challenge and a
new moment to measure where I stand as young lad. What you learn in matches
like this, you cannot learn in 10 Eredivisie matches.
"As a young kid you dream to one day play for
Barcelona, but also to play against the best in the world. And for me
personally it is beautiful to play against Messi. It would be a huge boost for
my career if I could stop him."
Wednesday's clash kicks off at Camp Nou at 20:45CET.
