SS Lazio swept aside AC Chievo Verona 3-0 to record their
second win of the season after ten-man ACF Fiorentina were held to a 1-1 draw
by Cagliari Calcio.
Defeated 4-1 by Juventus last time out, Vladimir
Petković's charges made the perfect start in their bid to make amends when
Antonio Candreva scored after eight minutes. Luis Cavanda doubled the home
team's lead seven minutes before the interval and defender Senad Lulić added
the final flourish.
Earlier in the day, Fiorentina were on course for a third
straight victory when Borja Valero broke the deadlock with 19 minutes
remaining. However, they were stung by Mauricio Pinilla's 89th-minute reply and
it got worse for Vincenzo Montella's men when David Pizarro was sent off on the
stroke of full time.
Elsewhere, Paulo Sergio Betanin registered two
second-half goals as AS Livorno Calcio consigned Calcio Catania to a 2-0
reverse, while Antonio Di Natale salvaged a 1-1 draw for Udinese Calcio at home
to Bologna FC. As for Hellas Verona FC, they continued their impressive start
to the campaign by defeating US Sassuolo Calcio 2-0. In the late kick-off, UC
Sampdoria host city neighbours Genoa CFC.
