Federation Cup champions Enyimba, have usurped League
title holders Kano Pillars from the top of the Globacom Premier League table
after defeating Wikki Tourists 2-0 inside the Aba Township Stadium in a week 32
clash on Wednesday.
Goals from Ifeanyi Ede and Josiah Maduabuchi saw Enyimba
who are yet to concede a goal or defeat at home, inflict more misery on Wikki
as they are now bottom of the table with 39 points from 32 games.
With the result, Enyimba with a game in hand, are now on
52 points, same as Bayelsa United, but
edge it on goals difference.
At the Samson Siasia Stadium, Yenagoa, a 41st minute
strike from Sobomabo West for Nembe City, was enough to earn all three points
for the hosts, and subject Kano Pillars to their 12 loss of the season, and now
occupy the fourth spot with 51 points.
In Enugu, Rangers gave their push for a first league
title for over three decades a big boost thanks to a 3-1 victory over visiting
Akwa United.
The Flying Antelopes are just four points adrift Enyimba
and will have to come up with an inspiring performance in their next clash
against old foes Shooting Stars in Ibadan.
On their part, Shooting Stars battled to a 1-1 draw
against Heartland in Owerri.
Gabriel Adikwu put the Oluyole Warriors in front in the

th minute after profiting from a rebound off the keeper,
but a 56th minute equalizer from the penalty spot by Bartholomew Ibenegbu
restored parity for the Naze Millionaires.
In other other matches, Nassarawa United defeated Bayelsa
United 2-1 in Lafia, Gombe United lost 2-0 to homers Kwara United, Warri Wolves
were held 0-0 at home by Lobi Stars, Kaduna United and Sunshine Stars took full
home advantage as they managed 1-0 victory over Dolphins and El-Kanemi Warriors
respectively, while Sharks recorded the biggest scoreline of the day, spanking
ABS 4-0 in Port-Harcourt, with Christian Pyagbara, Tayo Fabiyi, Fortune
Omoniwari and Thompson Stowe all registering their names on the score
sheet.
