The former Tavriya defender is happy to get back in the
game after contractual differences stalled his playing career
Out of favour Super Eagles defender Dele Adeleye made his
debut in the Europa League for Anzhi Makhachkala away to FC Tiraspol Sheriff.
The Nigerian, who last played for the Super Eagles in the
qualifying series for the 2010 World Cup, admitted that he was glad to have
stepped back on the pitch after so many months on the sidelines due to club
infractions with Tavriya.
He is also hoping to make his league debut this weekend
to Volga on Sunday.
"I have always wanted to play in the big
competitions, the Champions League and the Europa League and Anzhi gave me one
of such opportunities that's why I joined them," Adeleye told Goal.
"I am hoping it will not take me long to adapt well
into the team and I hope to continue this in the league on Sunday when we face
Volga," he added.
