The defender says he did not have any contact with his
former boss as Real Madrid faced Chelsea, but has stressed he does not feel any
resentment towards the Portuguese
Sergio Ramos has admitted he did not speak to Jose
Mourinho before or after Real Madrid's 3-1 International Champions Cup final
win over Chelsea on Wednesday.
The Spain international maintained a troubled
relationship with the Portuguese coach during the latter's three-year reign at
the Santiago Bernabeu side and, even though he insists he does not feel any
resentment towards Mourinho, Ramos was in no mood to catch up with his former
boss.
"I didn't talk to Mourinho. Others said hello to
him; I have no feelings of resentment towards him, like I've always said:
resentment is for losers, and that's not something we do here," Ramos told
reporters.
"The drama, the controversy was stirred by the
press. We have the maximum amount of respect for Chelsea as we have for every
one of our opponents.
"It doesn't matter if Mourinho is coaching them, it
doesn't matter if it's Chelsea."
Mourinho guided Madrid to one La Liga title and one Copa
del Rey trophy, but left the club this summer after a disappointing 2012-13 campaign.
