The agent of Cristian Chivu has rejected reports that the
defender is considering retiring, although he admitted that he will discuss his
future with Inter.
The 32-year-old Romanian only appeared in 7 matches last
season because of a foot injury and his future at the Nerazzurri has become
uncertain due to reoccurring injuries.
“At the moment Cristian is in America with Inter, however
when he returns to Italy I will discuss things with him and with the club,” his
agent Victor Becali told Calciomercato.com.
“After these meetings we will make conclusions. I don’t
know exactly what the situation is, but let’s wait for a while. It is too soon
to speak about retirement.
Chivu arrived in Italy in the summer of 2003 when he
signed for Roma.
