Mazzarri enjoying Inter duties

Inter Milan coach Walter Mazzarri has enjoyed an "excellent" first half-season with the club, despite admitting the job has given him more grey hairs.

Having finished a dismal ninth last season under Andrea Stramaccioni, Inter currently occupy the second Europa League qualifying place as they lie fifth in the table.

They trail leaders Juventus by 15 points but Napoli, in the third Champions League spot, by only five and veteran Javier Zanetti earlier told Gazzetta dello Sport that catching the latter and rejoining Europe's elite was a realistic aim.

Agent confirms Chelsea have AGREED terms to sign midfielder in January

Chelsea look set to strengthen their central midfield in January, with a deal reportedly close, with just a fee to be agreed with Inter Milan for Fredy Guarin.

The Daily Mirror have reported: '' Guarin's agent Marcelo Ferreyra confirmed talks had taken place and insists it is now up to the two clubs to agree a fee.

He told Colombian network Caracol Radio: "We have already been to London with Inter and met with Chelsea directors to make their interest formal.

Inter defender Juan Jesus believes that the team deserve to be in first place in the league standings and revealed that he won’t settle for less.

The Nerazzurri are currently in fourth place on the Serie A table, only two points away from breaking into the top three, but the 22-year-old admits that he won’t be satisfied with just a Champions League spot.

Juan Jesus spoke to Sky Sport Italia about his hunger for success, while also praising his fellow Biscione team-mates and coach Walter Mazzarri.

Brazilian fullback, Jonathan, feels that Inter need to strengthen in January if they want to keep up their European dream alive.

Jonathan fired home for Inter in their 1-1 draw against Bologna at the weeknd but he feels that Coach, Walter Mazzarri needs to add to his squad in January.

“Today we have had a lot of chances but the ball just wouldn’t go in,” the 27-year-old told Premium Calcio.

Inter midfielder Esteban Cambiasso says he believes new coach Walter Mazzarri is the main reason behind the Nerazzurri’s success so far this season.

The Milan based club finished last season in ninth place, which prompted the change in manager from Andrea Stramaccioni to Mazzarri.

“Compared to the other coaches we had – well, maybe Gian Piero Gasperini, but he didn’t have much time – Mazzarri is someone who has his system of play,” the Argentine told Inter Channel.

Inter coach Walter Mazzarri was impressed by his side after what he felt was one of their best performances this season, against Udinese.

The Nerazzurri ran out 3-0 winners at the Stadio Friuli thanks to goals from Rodrigo Palacio, Andrea Ranocchia and Ricky Alvarez.

“It was one of our best performances of the season, also taking into account the quality of the opponents,” Mazzarri told Sky Sport Italia.

Juan Jesus: I Am Learning More And More Under New Inter Boss

Inter defender Juan Jesus has declared that he’s already learning from his new coach Walter Mazzarri since the Italian tactician took over from Andrea Stramaccioni in the summer.

The Brazilian who was a constant feature in the Nerazzurri’s defence last season, playing 44 games in all competitions.

Nevertheless the 22-year-old believes that he still has to improve if he wishes to remain in the starting XI at Inter, but insists that with more competition at the club it will help him be more determined.
