Taylor Swift Afraid of Ending Up Being 'Awful' and 'Alone,' Mocked by Chelsea Handler

Thursday, 7 March 2013

Taylor Swift reveals her biggest fear. The country music singer, who recently slammed Tina Fey and Amy Poehler over their "stay away from Michael J. Fox's son" joke, says in another magazine interview that she is worried that one day, she ends up being "awful," "intolerable" and "alone."

"What I worry about is that I never want to end up kind of a self-centered, vain human being. My fears circle around me making the wrong choices and messing this up for myself. I don't wanna end up being awful and intolerable. Alone," the country music singer/songwriter opens up to InStyleUK for her cover story.

"Lying in a marble bathtub by myself, like sad, with a glass of wine, just complaining that my life ended up alone because I pushed everyone away because I thought I was too good to hang out with anybody. The typical Hollywood sad cliche of the poor lonely starlet with no one because she put up all these walls and didn't trust anyone," she adds.

"That's my fear," she continues. "And that's why I live my life the way I live my life because I'd so much rather feel everything than end up like that."

Swift additionally comments on the mixed responses she got for her songwriting regime, saying her exes can write songs about her if they want to. "If I'm gonna write songs about my exes they can write about me. That's how it works," she reasons.

Elsewhere, Chelsea Handler mocks the 22-year-old Grammy winner. "My theory about Taylor Swift is that she's a virgin," Handler says when asked to comment about the singer by Andy Cohen. "Every guy thinks they're going to devirginize her, and they're not."

"Everyone breaks up with her because they date her for two weeks and she's like, 'I'm not gonna do it.' And they're like, 'Oh, well, forget it. Then I don't want to date you,' " the TV host adds. "She's never going to get devirginized, ever, ever, ever, ever."

Handler, a friend of Katie Couric whom Swift professed her love for, also weighs in on the singer's "Hell" comment about Fey and Poehler, "I think that was a bold statement, but I'm not on anyone's side because I just don't care enough."

"I like that she's being that vociferous about something that she thinks they were out to get her. They were clearly making a joke just about her demeanor, which is embarrassing. I mean, she's just dated so many men," she continues.

Previously, Swift voiced her thoughts about mean girls to Vanity Fair, "You know, Katie Couric is one of my favorite people because she said to me she had heard a quote that she loved . . . that said, 'There's a special place in hell for women who don't help other women.' "

Both Fey and Poehler have since commented on her serious reaction. Fey was surprised. Recalling her jokes at the Golden Globe Awards, the "30 Rock" star thought if anyone was going to be angry, it would have been "Avatar" director James Cameron.

Back then, Fey joked she didn't really know about "Zero Dark Thirty (2012)" controversy "but when it comes to torture, I trust the woman who spent three years married to James Cameron," referring "the woman" to "Dark Thirty" helmer Kathryn Bigelow who was previously married to Cameron.

Poehler, meanwhile, kind of accepted her fate over Swift's "hell" comment. "Aw, I feel bad if she was upset. I am a feminist, and she is a young and talented girl. That being said, I do agree I am going to hell. But for other reasons. Mostly boring tax stuff," the "Parks and Recreation" actress told The Hollywood Reporter.

Tina Fey Surprised by Taylor Swift's 'Special Place in Hell' Comment

Wednesday, 6 March 2013

Taylor Swift was mad at Tina Fey and Amy Poehler for cracking a joke about her love life on live television, and the "30 Rock" actress didn't see that coming. In a premiere event for her new movie "Admissions", the 42-year-old star told E! News she was surprised by Swift's reaction.

Recalling her hosting gig at the Golden Globe Awards where she cracked many jokes about fellow celebrities with partner-in-crime Poehler, Fey thought if anyone was going to be angry about her stunt that night, it would have been "Avatar" director James Cameron.

Back then, Fey joked she didn't really know about "Zero Dark Thirty" controversy "but when it comes to torture, I trust the woman who spent three years married to James Cameron," referring "the woman" to "Dark Thirty" helmer Kathryn Bigelow who was previously married to Cameron.

As for the joke that didn't set well with Swift, Fey warned the singer in a faux drunken speech to "stay away from Michael J. Fox's son," who served as Mr. Golden Globes back then. Fey insisted Swift needed "some 'me' time to learn about herself," while Poehler quipped "Or go for it."

In an interview for her Vanity Fair cover story, Swift slammed the two hosts, "You know, Katie Couric is one of my favorite people because she said to me she had heard a quote that she loved ... that said, 'There's a special place in hell for women who don't help other women.' " The quote is attributed to former secretary of state Madeleine Albright.

Like Fey, Poehler has also reacted to Swift's angry comment. "Aw, I feel bad if she was upset. I am a feminist, and she is a young and talented girl. That being said, I do agree I am going to hell. But for other reasons. Mostly boring tax stuff," the "Parks and Recreation" actress told The Hollywood Reporter.

Not only Swift addressed Fey and Poehler's joke but she also set the record straight about what happened between her and Harry Styles. While the "Mean" hitmaker took it upon herself to fire back at the two actresses, she authorized someone to speak on her behalf about her ex.

The source claimed the One Direction member pursued her for a year and when they finally dated, he cheated on her. The relationship got rocky after he alerted Swift of a picture on the web of him kissing a friend good-bye. She broke things off but he kept trying to convince to take him back until she finally gave in for the second time.

"But the whole time she says she feels like he's looking at every girl," the source said. During the time they were in London together he allegedly "disappears one night and after that it was like he just didn't want to keep going." A rep for Styles denied all claims made by Swift's source, insisting they were "undeniably false."
