Real Madrid Projected Lineup for El Clásico

Friday, 25 October 2013

Like it or not, Ancelotti will likely have to pick a good defensive team to play against Barcelona. As he stated in his press conference, it's very difficult to keep the ball away from Messi, Iniesta, Xavi and company, so it could be better for Real Madrid to turn into a counterattacking side.

Luckily enough for him, Ancelotti has recovered every single player in the roster with the exception of Xabi Alonso. It would have been great to have Xabi against Barcelona, but the Spanish midfielder will have to wait. Considering the team is playing well with the 4-3-3 formation, Ancelotti will likely deploy that formation again. Illarramendi and Khedira will be in the midfield with Luka Modric being the most creative player on Real's midfield. The Croatian player's ability to defend is better than Isco, so Ancelotti would be smart to start him.

The Barcelona coach believes the referee was correct to dismiss the Bhoys captain and hailed his side’s triumph in Glasgow as their best performance of the season so far.

Barcelona coach Gerardo Martino believes the referee was right to hand Celtic midfielder Scott Brown a red card during his side’s 1-0 Champions League victory over Celtic on Tuesday.

The Bhoys skipper was dismissed after appearing to kick out in Neymar’s direction after having fouled the Brazilian just before the hour mark.

Tuesday, 1 October 2013

The 26-year-old believes he can fill in for the injured Barcelona forward during his absence if called upon in Tuesday’s match at Celtic Park.

Cesc Fabregas believes he can fill the void left by the injured Lionel Messi in the Barcelona XI ahead of their Champions League clash with Celtic on Tuesday.

The Argentina international, who has scored 62 goals in 80 appearances in the elite European competition, suffered a thigh injury in Saturday's 2-0 win over Almeria and is expected to spend up to three weeks on the sidelines.

Wednesday, 25 September 2013

FC Barcelona hosted a Champion League team, Real Sociedad, at the Camp Nou in what promised to be a tight affair. In defense Dani Alves also started after he received some much needed rest on Saturday.
