Mazzarri enjoying Inter duties

Friday, 27 December 2013

Inter Milan coach Walter Mazzarri has enjoyed an "excellent" first half-season with the club, despite admitting the job has given him more grey hairs.

Having finished a dismal ninth last season under Andrea Stramaccioni, Inter currently occupy the second Europa League qualifying place as they lie fifth in the table.

They trail leaders Juventus by 15 points but Napoli, in the third Champions League spot, by only five and veteran Javier Zanetti earlier told Gazzetta dello Sport that catching the latter and rejoining Europe's elite was a realistic aim.

The Nerazzurri are currently in fourth place on the Serie A table, only two points away from breaking into the top three, but the 22-year-old admits that he won’t be satisfied with just a Champions League spot.

Juan Jesus spoke to Sky Sport Italia about his hunger for success, while also praising his fellow Biscione team-mates and coach Walter Mazzarri.

Cambiasso Reveals Reason For Inter’s Success

Thursday, 14 November 2013

Inter midfielder Esteban Cambiasso says he believes new coach Walter Mazzarri is the main reason behind the Nerazzurri’s success so far this season.

The Milan based club finished last season in ninth place, which prompted the change in manager from Andrea Stramaccioni to Mazzarri.

“Compared to the other coaches we had – well, maybe Gian Piero Gasperini, but he didn’t have much time – Mazzarri is someone who has his system of play,” the Argentine told Inter Channel.

Mazzarri: One Of Inter’s Best Of The Season

Sunday, 3 November 2013

Inter coach Walter Mazzarri was impressed by his side after what he felt was one of their best performances this season, against Udinese.

The Nerazzurri ran out 3-0 winners at the Stadio Friuli thanks to goals from Rodrigo Palacio, Andrea Ranocchia and Ricky Alvarez.

“It was one of our best performances of the season, also taking into account the quality of the opponents,” Mazzarri told Sky Sport Italia.

Moratti's long Inter goodbye

Saturday, 26 October 2013

Massimo Moratti confirmed Erick Thohir will take over on November 15 and attend Inter-Livorno at San Siro.

The President spoke at the shareholders meeting, where he received a standing ovation.

“It seems natural to me that a change of this nature, regardless of who was there, could create this reaction. I appreciated the applause very much. I am increasingly grateful for all the patience they had with me,” said Moratti.

Mazzarri: Inter success around the corner

The 52-year-old coach has called for his side not to underestimate anyone this season, while remaining cryptic on his conversations with new club owner Erick Thohir

Walter Mazzarri believes he has steered Inter back on to the path to success in Serie A ahead of Saturday's clash with fourth-placed Hellas Verona.

Failure to win in their last three games has seen the Nerazzurri slip to fifth in Italy, nine points adrift of leaders Roma, but the former Napoli coach - who took over at San Siro this summer - has no doubt that his players are on the brink of something special.

Inter Milan have their eye on Arsenal defender

Arsenal’s out-of-favour defender Thomas Vermaelen has no dearth of suitors despite failing to etch his name in the good books of manager Arsene Wenger. According to reports in talkSPORT, Serie A giants Inter Milan are keen to take the Belgian on board, thus offering him an escape route out of the Emirates.

Vermaelen has fallen out-of-favour with Wenger ever since his defensive lapses led the Gunners to a disastrous start last season. To add to his woes, the duo of Per Mertesacker and Laurent Koscielny have been massively impressive and frugal in the defence, helping the club bounce back to fourth position in the league table last year, whilst also contributing to their blazing start this year.

Giaccherini Poised For Italy Return

Reports suggest Emanuele Giaccherini may leave Sunderland as quickly as he arrived with Inter Milan currently tracking the midfielder and weighing up the possibility of making a formal approach in January.

According to talkSport, Giaccherini is happy with life at the Stadium of Light having been brought in during the summer as part of former Sunderland manager Paolo Di Canio’s drastic overhaul.
