The PDC has introduced a fourth Masters event to its calendar this summer

Friday, 20 June 2014

The PDC has introduced a fourth World Series of Darts event to the calendar which will be staged in Singapore this summer.

The eight-player Singapore Darts Masters, held at the Singapore Indoor Stadium on August 15 and 16, joins the Dubai Duty Free Darts Masters, Perth Darts Masters and Sydney Darts Masters on the PDC's World Series of Darts tour.

The Singapore showpiece will feature world champion Michael van Gerwen, 16-time world champion Phil Taylor, former World Championship finalists Simon Whitlock and Peter Wright, 2013 World Grand Prix runner-up Dave Chisnall and seven-time major champion James Wade.

In addition, 2014 Premier League Darts champion Raymond van Barneveld and former World Championship finalist Andy Hamilton are the wildcards who complete the line-up.

Martin Adams kept his bid to lift the BDO World Championship title on track

Wednesday, 8 January 2014

Martin Adams's bid to lift the BDO World Championship title for a fourth time in eight years gathered pace after he sent three-time runner-up Tony O'Shea crashing to a 3-0 whitewash defeat.

Adams, champion in 2007, 2010 and 2011, could hardly have had a tougher first-round opponent at Frimley Green but he brushed aside the challenge of third-seeded O'Shea in emphatic fashion as he needed just 23 minutes to win all nine legs.

O'Shea had reached the final in the last two editions as well as five years ago - losing each time to Ted Hankey (2009), Christian Kist (2012) and Scott Waites (2013) - but he will not even be gracing the second round this time.

Also in the day's afternoon session at the Lakeside Country Club, top seed Stephen Bunting safely progressed through with a 3-1 win over Jim Widmayer while Scott Mitchell defeated Paul Hogan 3-2.

Phil Taylor claims fifth Grand Slam of Darts title with 16-6 win over Robert Thornton

Monday, 18 November 2013

Phil Taylor clinched his fifth Grand Slam of Darts crown as he comprehensively beat Robert Thornton 16-6 in Sunday's final at Wolverhampton's Civic Hall.

Taylor did not hit the heights reached in his epic semi-final victory over Adrian Lewis earlier in the day, but did not have to as he built an early lead over Thornton which the Scot never looked like retrieving.

Indeed, having hit 14 maximums against Lewis, Taylor managed just two in the final as he finished with a three-dart average of 98, but he still had far too much for Thornton.
