Bayern Munich came from behind to beat Hertha Berlin 3-2 at the Allianz Arena and maintain their place at the top of the Bundesliga.

Adrian Ramos gave the visitors the lead in the fourth minute and they could have stretched that advantage before Mario Mandzukic brought Bayern level.

A further Mandzukic effort and Mario Gotze's first goal for Bayern in the Bundesliga appeared to have given Bayern a comfortable win, but Anis Ben-Hatira set up a grandstand finish in which the Bavarians only just held on.

Xavi has described Tuesday's humiliating 4-0 defeat at the hands of Champions League semi-final opponents Bayern Munich as Barcelona's "worst result ever".

The loss at the Allianz Arena was the biggest in the competition's history at the last-four stage and represented the Blaugrana's heaviest away defeat in European competition, and their principal playmaker admitted afterwards that the Catalans could have no complaints about the final scoreline.

"It's the worst result ever," Xavi told reporters. "They were better - and I don't mind saying that."

The Spain international also conceded that the Liga leaders have little hope of turning the tie around in the second leg at Camp Nou next week.

"It's almost impossible," he confessed. "But we must try to, for this club and for everyone."

Arsenal want to make the impossible possible, warns Heynckes

The 67-year-old Bayern coach says his team must be wary of Arsene Wenger's side despite their advantage from the first leg of their Champions League clash

Bayern Munich coach Jupp Heynckes believes Arsenal still pose a genuine threat ahead of their Champions League last-16 second-leg tie on Wednesday.

Arsene Wenger's side go into the game 3-1 down after the first leg, but Heynckes says he is well aware of the quality the Premier League side possess.

"Arsenal are not playing this weekend and can prepare optimally. They are not coming to Allianz Arena to get eliminated, instead they want to make the impossible possible," Heynckes told reporters at a press conference.

Before that game takes place, however, Bayern face Fortuna Dusseldorf at home, and Heynckes says it is the only match him and his squad are focused at present.

"We are not thinking about the Arsenal match yet. We want to march on in the league and expand our lead. We can't allow ourselves to slack now," he added.

The 67-year-old was complimentary of their opponent's this weekend, and was quick to add that his side are not getting carried away with their 17-point lead at the top of the Bundesliga table.

"Fortuna have established themselves as a promoted team. If you look past our five goals against them in the first half of the season, they have done well defensively. We'll have to fully focus," he continued.

"It would be the wrong attitude to think about the Bundesliga title. We just want to continue."
