Mourinho keeps players in the dark over line-up for Schalke showdown

The Portuguese is keeping his line-up secret for tactical reasons, while he had encouraging words for Samuel Eto'o after the striker broke his Blues duck at the weekend

Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho has kept all of his players bar John Terry in the dark over who will be starting against Schalke in the Champions League on Tuesday night.

The Portuguese has informed the veteran centre-half that he will play in Gelsenkirchen but will not disclose the remainder of his line-up until shortly before kick-off.

Eto’o will be invited for knockouts

A day after Cameroon were drawn against Tunisia in the 2014 World Cup qualifying knockout phase, the team’s assistant coach Martin Ndtoungou Mpilé insisted that Samuel Eto’o remains the Indomitable Lions captain, amid speculations the Chelsea new signing has retired from international football.

Eto’o was reported to have announced his retirement to team mates moments after their game against Libya last week, but many in the central African nation consider it a game of bluff to put pressure on the country’s football officials.

“Eto’o is still the captain of the Indomitable Lions,” Mpilé said on Tuesday.
